Relocating to Tehran to pursue art studies sparked a newfound urge to photograph. This fresh start seemed to heighten my awareness of both my roots and the world around me. I began capturing images during my initial settling period in Tehran, as well as during occasional visits back to my hometown of Ahvaz. This period coincided with the sale of my childhood and adolescent home, a time marked by heightened family tensions, the experience of my parents’ aging, and the embrace of new experiences in the new city.
